Setting Up Your Event Registration

Think of this page as the front door to your event. It's where you control who can register, when they can register, what information you collect, and how you accept payment.

Controlling Your Registration Timeline 🗓️

First, let's define when people can sign up for your event.

  • Registration Status: This is your master on/off switch.

    • Draft: The default setting. Your registration page is hidden from the public while you get everything perfect.

    • Published: You're live! The registration page is now visible and ready to accept sign-ups.

  • Registration Opens: Set the exact date and time your "front door" officially opens. Even if your status is "Published," no one can register before this moment.

  • Registration Closes: Set the date when registration will automatically close. This typically happens at 11:59 PM in your event's time zone on the selected day.

Managing Your Event Capacity 🎟️

Tell the system how many people can attend your event.

  • Maximum Registrations: Set the total number of spots available for your event. Once this number is reached, the system will automatically close registration and show a "Sold Out" message.

  • Leave it blank if your event has unlimited capacity.

Building Your Registration Form

This is where you decide what information you need to collect from your attendees.

Key Information to Collect

  • Address Requirements: Choose if you want to make collecting a physical address optional or required.

  • Company/Organization & Title: Essential for B2B events, conferences, and networking.

  • Phone Number: Useful for sending important last-minute updates via text or contacting the participant during the event.

Instructions and Legal Terms

  • Registration Instructions: Add a helpful message at the top of the registration form. Use this space to explain different ticket types, provide special instructions, or link to your event's FAQ page.

  • Terms and Conditions: Add your official event policies here. Attendees must check a box to agree to these terms before they can complete their registration. This is the perfect place for your cancellation policy, code of conduct, or liability waiver.

Configuring Payment Options 💳

Make it easy for attendees to pay in the way that's most convenient for them.

  • Available Payment Methods:

    • Credit Card (Default): The most common and convenient option for attendees.

    • Check / Invoice: Great for corporate or group registrations where an invoice is required for payment.

    • Pay at Door: Allows people to register now and pay in person when they arrive at the event.

  • Order Expiration: To prevent tickets from being held indefinitely in abandoned carts, you can set a time limit (e.g., 20 minutes) for attendees to complete their payment.

Customizing the Experience

Add a personal touch to your registration flow to match your event's branding and tone.

  • Allow Guests: Let a primary registrant sign up multiple people at once. You can set a maximum number of guests and decide how much information to collect from them.

  • Custom Call-to-Action: Change the main registration button text from the default "Register Now" to something that fits your event, like "Book Your Spot," "Secure Your Ticket," or "Join Us!"

  • Custom Confirmation Message: Personalize the success message that appears after an attendee completes their registration. This is a great place to say thank you and share important next steps, like a link to book a hotel room or join the event community.

Advanced Registration Controls 🔒

Need more control over who can register? Use these advanced settings for exclusive events.

  • Approval Required: When this is enabled, registrations are placed in a "pending" status until you or a team member manually approve them. Perfect for application-based events.

Troubleshooting & Best Practices

Why can't people see my registration page?

Check these three things first:

  1. Is your Registration Status set to Published?

  2. Has the Registration Opens date and time already passed?

  3. Do you have at least one active and visible ticket or participant type?

Why isn't a payment method working?

  • Double-check that your payment gateway (like Stripe or Authorize.NET) is properly connected in your team and/or event settings.

  • Ensure the specific payment method (e.g., Credit Card) is enabled on this page.

Final Checklist Before You Launch:

  • [ ] Test Everything: Process a test registration for yourself to experience the entire flow from the attendee's perspective.

  • [ ] Proofread: Read all your instructions and custom text to check for typos.

  • [ ] Mobile View: Open the registration page on your phone to make sure it looks great and is easy to use on a small screen
